A film made for Danish TV on the composer Carl Nielsen, a psychological portrait of his life in the turbulent times at the turn of the 20th century and during the First World War. Who was this son of a provincial house painter whose workers’ and children’s songs are still well known and loved in Denmark today?
The film is shot at original locations in Fyn and Copenhagen. Carl Nielsen is played by Danish actor Tue Hoé, who also voices excerpts from his letters and diaries.
Featuring the Members of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Danish String Quartet, Fabio Luisi, Herbert Blomstedt
